Genesis of MHS GENESIS
MHS GENESIS is the new, modern electronic health record for the Military Health System. Over the years, it has endured improvements, congressional mandates, and has evolved from 1979 into the health record for military service members, families and retirees today. MHS GENESIS is deploying in waves at military hospitals and clinics across the MHS.

DS Logon
To access the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal, visit https://patientportal.mhsgenesis.health.mil. If you do not have a common access card (CAC), you will need to create a free DS Logon to access the Patient Portal. Follow the link to set up an account and once created, select “Upgrade to Premium Account” to view your health records.
What is the MHS GENESIS Portal?
The MHS GENESIS Patient Portal is a secure website for 24/7 access to your health information, including managing appointments and exchanging messages with your care team. The new patient portal is launching at sites as MHS GENESIS deploys, replacing the TRICARE Online Secure Patient Portal.

Technical Support for MHS GENESIS
Technical Support for the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal – Since MHS GENESIS is a new electronic health record system, there are bound to be questions and technical issues with the system. For technical assistance with issues accessing the Patient Portal, beneficiaries are encouraged to contact the Defense Manpower Data Center web support by calling: 800-368-3665.

The easiest way to access your medical records is through Military Health Systems (MHS) GENESIS. Update all your contact information on DEERS before logging into MHS GENESIS, if not it can cause a delay or issue with claims, referrals, or delivery of home prescriptions.
