The General Surgery Service at Keller Army Community Hospital provides expert care for a wide range of surgical conditions, with a focus on abdominal and soft tissue disorders. We specialize in complex cases, managing everything from common issues like hernias and appendicitis to advanced procedures such as minimally invasive surgeries. Our team offers both nonoperative and operative management, delivering state-of-the-art surgical solutions tailored to each patient’s needs. The following is a non-inclusive list of our capabilities.

  • Abdomen:

    • Appendectomy (for appendicitis)
    • Cholecystectomy (for gallbladder disease)
    • Inguinal hernia repair (for groin hernias)
    • Ventral and Umbilical hernia repair (for abdominal wall hernias)
    • Open abdominal surgery (intestinal resection, bowel obstruction)
  • Soft Tissue:

    • Excision of skin and soft tissue lesions (for benign or malignant tumors)
    • Advanced Wound Care (Burn care, Acute and Chronic ulcers, Traumatic Wounds)
    • Abscess and Infectious Wound Care
    • Breast Surgery (malignant and benign conditions)
  • Minimally Invasive Procedures:

    • Laparoscopic surgery (for appendicitis, gallbladder disease, hernias)
    • Percutaneous Needle Biopsies with Ultrasound Guidance
  • Screening and Diagnostic Procedures:

    • Colonoscopy (for colorectal cancer screening or diagnosis)
    • Upper endoscopy (for ulcers, reflux, or esophageal issues)

    • Medi port or Chemo port (inserted, managed, removed)
