Urgent & Emergency Care
The Emergency Room is the emergency treatment area for KACH, providing urgent and emergent care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The mission of the ER dictates that it provide prompt triage, resuscitation and stabilization, diagnosis and disposition of patients who present for care. Patients with routine, non-emergent problems are directed to their Primary Care Clinic, when possible, by providing an appointment within 24 hours.
Patient Identification and Demographic Verification Policy
All patients must present valid DoD or VA identification and verify their full name and date of birth before receiving any medical services. Additionally, demographic information will be verified to assure patient’s information in MHS GENESIS is accurate and up to date.
This policy is in effect for your safety and to ensure accuracy of medical records.
All minor patients – over the age of 10 – are required to possess and present their own DoD ID card.

Patients must provide a valid government-issued ID or passport to the A&D staff, as well as their SSN or DOD ID Number; their SSN or DOD ID Number will be used to perform a Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) check.
