CSM William E. Butler is the Keller Army Community Hospital Command Sergeant Major.  

CSM William E. Butler II was born in Atlanta, GA. He entered military service in July 2000 attending basic training at Ft. Moore (Ft. Benning), GA. His Advanced Individual Training includes 91B (68W) Combat Medic, Radiology Specialist Phase I at Ft. Sam Houston, TX, and 91P (68P) Radiology Specialist Phase II at Ft. Gordon, GA. SGM Butler has served in a variety of positions to include Brigade S-3 SGM, 32nd Medical Brigade, Ft. Sam Houston, TX; Deputy NCOIC for Quality and Safety Tripler, HI; Radiology NCOIC Tripler, HI; Deputy NCOIC for the DCA CRDAMC Ft. Hood, TX; 1SG C Co. WRNMMC, Bethesda, MD; Senior Enlisted Leader Radiology department, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD; Senior Radiology NCO, 21st Combat Support Hospital(FWD); Operations NCO, 32nd Medical Brigade, Ft. Sam Houston, TX; AIT Platoon Sargent, B Co. 264th Medical Battalion, Ft. Sam Houston, TX; NCOIC Radiology, DTHC-Pentagon; Detachment NCO, U.S. Army Health Clinic, Yuma, AZ; ANCOIC Radiology, Ft. Irwin, CA; Radiology SGT and Medic HHC, 168th Medical Battalion, Camp Hialeah, Korea. SGM Butler deployed with 21st Combat Support Hospital in support of OEF-OIR.
 
His Professional Military education includes the education includes Basic Leader Course; Advance Leader Course; Senior Leader Course (Commandant’s List); AIT Platoon Sergeant Course; Battle Staff (Top 20%); Joint Medical Executive Skills Course; Basic Healthcare Admin Course; Equal Opportunity Leaders Course; Mobile Retention Course; Leadership Education and Development Course; Combatives I & II; Field Hygiene and Sanitation Course; Radiology Specialist Course; and Basic EMT Course. He holds an associate degree (Suma Cum Lade) in Management from Barstow Community College, a bachelor's degree (with Honors) in Applied Science and Technology from Thomas Edison University, and master’s degree in Healthcare Admin with Honors from University of Incarnate Word.
 
His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (5 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (1 silver knot), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (1 star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3), Korea Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (3), and Army Superior Unit Award. He has also been awarded the Expert Field Medical Badge and the Order of Military Medical Merit (O2M3).

SGM Butler is a Class 74 SGM Academy Graduate.
