Lt. Col. Scott R. Ostrander is the Deputy Commander for Clinical Services for Keller Army Community Hospital.
LTC Ostrander is a board-certified Family Medicine physician with extensive operational, academic, and clinical leadership experience across the Military Health System.
He completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University in 2006, earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in California in 2010. He completed his specialty training in Family Medicine at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Liberty, North Carolina, in 2013, and achieved board certification in Family Medicine that same year.
Following residency, LTC Ostrander was assigned as the Medical Director for the U.S. Army Medical Activity (USA MEDDAC) in Livorno, Italy, directing clinical operations at Camp Darby. During this tour, he deployed to Afghanistan as a forward-stationed Battalion Surgeon with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He subsequently served as Battalion Surgeon for the Warrior Transition Battalion at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, leading comprehensive multi-specialty care and rehabilitation oversight for wounded, ill, and injured Soldiers. LTC Ostrander then transitioned to academic medicine, dedicating five years as a core faculty physician for the Family Medicine Residency Training Program at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He then reported to the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he served three years as Chief of Primary Care at Keller Army Community Hospital before assuming his current post as the Deputy Commander for Clinical Services.
