Mammogram/Breast Exam

Women’s Health plays a vital role in the overall readiness of the Army and in the overall health of our beneficiaries. Women's Health refers to comprehensive women’s health care as well as health issues that are unique to women.

Regular mammogram screenings are a powerful tool in the fight against breast cancer. The American College of Radiology (ACR) and Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) recommend that women start getting annual mammograms at age 40.

You may call the Radiology Department to make an appointment at (845) 938-4840 without a referral. You can also discuss having a mammogram with your PCM. An appointment can be made with your PCM by calling the appointment line at (845) 938-7992 or (800) 552-2907.

If you are seeing a doctor outside of Keller Army Community Hospital and have had a mammogram, please ask your doctor to fax your Mammogram results to (845) 938-1120, Attention: Gwendolyn Swinson, RN. This will assure you results are entered into your medical records.

How to Make an Appointment

To make an appointment for Mammogram/Breast Exam Services:

• Directly call the Radiology Department to make an appointment at (845) 938-4840 without referral.
• Call the Appointment Center at 845-938-7992 or 800-552-2907, between 7 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday
• Call 1-800-TRICARE, Option #1 
• Beneficiaries enrolled at Keller in TRICARE Prime or TRICARE Plus may make online appointments at https://my.mhsgenesis.health.mil/. 

TRICARE covers many Women’s Health services, including screening, preventive, and reproductive care.

TRICARE Covered Services 

TRICARE covers well-woman exams annually for women under age 65 with no cost-share or copayment. TRICARE offers coverage for many women’s health services, including:

• Well-Woman Exam
  • Breast Exams
  • HPV DNA Testing
  • Pelvic Exams
  • Pap Smears
• Reproductive Health Services
  • Birth Control
  • Labor and Delivery
  • Pregnancy Care
  • Prenatal Care
